Well today was our Official 1st show here in Langdon, North Dakota....My partner Mike Walsh and I are slowly going thru the Vulcan Mind Melt, as we are figuring each other out....So far so good, I mean at least we have some sort of foundation for what we do.....I spent yesterday (Labor Day) driving the streets of North Dakota, and like any man, I got lost....It was supposed to be a 60 minute trip, that turned into a 3 hour tour, yes a 3 hour tour....I finally arrived at my destination, The Spirit Lake Casino....Soon after entering the Casino, I got a call from the radio station and had to run home.....I guess the good thing is that I walked away while still ahead.....That call probably saved me from taking a 200 hit...lol

A Southern California Boy in Langdon, ND
Hello peeps.....
Since I left Southern California, I really havent had an opportunity to tell all my friends what Im doing here on the US/Canadian Border....On my most recent blog, jeez 2011, I was doing mornings and was Program Director at the largest Community College in the Country....After spending a couple of years there it was time to move on......After sending out nearly 500 packages to perspective employers around the Country....My search was narrowed down to three cities.....Harrisburg, PA, Fayetteville, AR and the place
I ended up in Langdon, North Dakota......Its really funny how many of those not in the radio industry look at employment.....Those close to me, not know the state of radio today said "How the hell can you leave California to go 2100 miles to a place thats nothing but ice 6 months out of the year?" and the radio people saying "Why aren't you there yet? Beginning on Tuesday, Im back in the saddle in Morning Drive w/a really good guy here, and our station, a 100,000 watt flamethrower that booms into Southern Manitoba and Winnepeg, oh, did I say 100,000 watt flamethrower, for the jock thats still in me, its nothing more than pure heaven....Its the most powerful radio station I've ever worked at!!!!! Now that I blogging again, I will tell you the exploits of "That guy from California!" Thats what they call me here.....The day before yesterday I was in a combine, going thru Canola....Note to self....Make sure when they are combining make sure your windows are up in your vehicle....Yep tough lesson, but my car smells good! Its late Friday afternoon on a Labor Day weekend and time for a cold beer! Have a great weekend.....See ya soon!
